As the world struggles to build a path forward after the pandemic, Artson emerges from a year of almost complete isolation with Queendom, an album that not only opens a window to his heart but also shows off a new range of depth for him as an artist. The first single "Heavy Heart" dives into the mental dialogue of his depression during one of his darkest moments and how love ushered him back into the light.
“I went through a deep state of depression this year after losing a lot of people close to me, all the pain people were going through, and just feeling like everything I'd worked so hard to build with my music career was ripped away because of COVID-19," he says. "But my wife held me down, she kept me grounded and never let me quit on myself or my music. That's what I love about her. She always has my back and believes in me even when I feel like I've lost sight."
Not only does Artson's wife have his back, she stands with him on "Heavy Heart." Making her debut as She-Rōze, the featured artist on the track, she's also set to release an album of her own co-produced by Artson early in 2022. "She's actually been heavily involved in all of my albums over the last decade, but the pandemic lit something inside of her that she's held back all these years," he shares. "There's a warmth, an edge, and a realness to her style that's unexpected, striking and authentically unique. It's a powerful blessing to make music together, and to see it continue to evolve to where we are now is surreal."
While "Heavy Heart" and the rest of the Queendom album which is set to release in November reflect a broader vocal style for Artson, his fans can look forward to the deep lyricism, timeless wisdom and uplifting rhythms they love about all his previous albums. They can catch him performing "Heavy Heart" and others from the new album as well as classics from Brave Star and several tracks from his #52song52weeks campaign on upcoming tours at live events across the South West throughout October and November.
