After winning the Native American Music Award for Best Hip Hop album with Brave Star, Artson collaborates with Redcloud, PJ Vegas, and Crystle Lightning to deliver a heavy dose of funkified sonic brilliance.
The new indigenous all-star collabo, Brown Fist Emoji, is undeniably filled end-to-end with West Coast bangers that will get your neck-snapping and bouncing out of your seat. “With all the social issues we’re facing, we see a lot of people in the world hurting these days,” says Artson. “I wanted to create an album that would take people away from all that for a while and remind them to dance. Because music and dance are medicine for the soul, and we need that right now.”
Not only does Brown Fist Emoji bring bass-heavy beats and SoCal good vibes, Los Angeles legend Ras Kass and the heavy-hitter Chino XL round out an already lyrically potent album. These future classics make up the first album off Artson’s 52 songs in 52 weeks campaign. His fans can look forward to a weekly dose of new music off five projects he's developed between tours and premieres of his documentary film, The Story of a Brave Star.
“Over the years I’ve learned to surround myself with people that share my kind of energy, and when we come together incredible things happen,” says Artson. “We all got to come together, lift each other up, and keep raising the vibration.” No matter how bright his star gets, Artson always remembers his roots.
